Parents’day celebration

On May 10th, the Korean Community Service (KCS) hosted their 36th Annual Parents’ day celebration at the Bayside Community Center in Queens. This celebration was
organized to show appreciation for the parents in our community with various performances and activities to bring a fun and festive atmosphere.
One of the highlights of this event was the special performance from the Hot Chocolate Ministries (HCM). Under the direction of conductor Sunkyong Lee, the HCM youth ensemble delivered the rendition of “A Mother’s Heart,” captivating the hearts of the audience with the emotional performance.
Additionally, the President and Vice-President of the HCM—Justin and Abigail respectively—performed a piano duet of “Arirang,” beautifully blending the harmonies of
both traditional and modern melodies. Their performance resonated deeply with the audience, bringing a touching moment of cultural appreciation and pride.
A KCS representative remarked, “These performances by the youth not only brought warmth to our Parents’ Day celebration but also showcased the spirit and hope of our
community’s next generation.”
Alongside the performances, the event included a health information session, a photo booth, lunch, and the distribution of small gifts for attendees, offering a full day of celebration and appreciation for the elders.
