On Friday June 27th, at 10:30am, The chocolate ministry members and the students from Queens prep college came to the Union Plaza Nursing Hospital to perform for the elders. The MCs were Erin and Micheal from the chocolate ministry. There were many performers and they were awesome! There was Claire Liu who performed solo and sang the song “Sit Down Sister” which is an African American spiritual song. Penelope Chan played the violin solo and played “I Love You” which is a very popular song in Korea. Julian Yoo played his saxophone for 2 songs. “Island Boys” and “Over the Mountains”. Oliver Liu sang “Hallelujah” and “Danny Boy”. Claire Liu also played the violin while Oliver was singing “Danny Boy”. Rory O’ Leary also performed a percussion solo titled “Double Play”. Catherine Tarbutton sang the songs “Arirang” which is the most iconic folk song in Korea and “The Kerry Dance”. Sarah Jun performed a ballet dance. The piece she danced to was “La Esmeralda” based on Victor Hugo’s “Hunchback of Notre Dame”. The final performance was a choir with everyone singing “143” which mean I love you and “In My Heart”. On the cello we had Alicia and on the Piano we had our teacher Ms.Lee. She had played the piano for most of the performances. Everyone did an amazing job performing and the elders enjoyed the performance.
